BUFF® & UNICEF: ALLIANCE FOR THE WORLD

We are living exceptional times, new needs have arisen in our planet and all hands are required. That’s why we decided to DO MORE NOW and established a Corporate Alliance with UNICEF.

People all around the world are suffering the effects of COVID-19 and this is even more critical in the most vulnerable areas. A global disease and a double emergency: COVID-19 is bringing a new threat to already battered countries – and makes delivering life-saving assistance even harder.

We will be donating a 2% of our profits to UNICEF. Together, we will be able to contribute on three projects against COVID-19 and its consequences on children and society in the most vulnerable countries.

fight against coid-19

Global Humanitarian Action for children

The COVID-19 pandemic has upended the lives of children and their families as health systems buckle, borders close, and schools and businesses shutter. UNICEF is working with health experts to promote facts over fear, bringing trustworthy guidance to parents, caregivers and educators. They are on the ground in more than 190 countries, partnering with front-line responders and providing them with the information and resources they need to keep children and their families healthy and learning, protected from sickness and violence. We will get through this together, for every child.

fight against coid-19 in Syria

Fighting against COVID-19 in Syria

The COVID-19 pandemic has upended the lives as the Syrian conflict entered its 9th year in March – and as children entered a second decade of life surrounded by war, violence, death and displacement – the region was grappling with the looming threat of COVID-19. The projected loss of jobs from lockdowns and businesses being shuttered in the Middle East and North Africa could see an additional 4 million children fall into poverty, according to UNICEF and the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia, further straining already devastated health systems.

UNICEF is working with this project to reach Syrian children and their families with prevention messaging around COVID-19, and to provide clean water and distribute hundreds of thousands of bars of soap to help reduce the risk of COVID-19. With this support, UNICEF has also reached hundreds of thousands of Syrian refugees living in informal settlements through a door-to-door hand washing awareness campaign which included soap distribution.

fight against coid-19 in Senegal

Fighting against COVID-19 in Senegal

Senegal reported its first confirmed COVID-19 case on March 2. Since then, most confirmed cases are residents from high-densely populated areas, which increases the risk of a fast spread of the virus throughout the country. An immediate increase of preventive interventions is therefore of utmost importance. Rapid action is needed. UNICEF, together with WHO and other international organizations, is supporting the Government in its COVID-19 response.

The aim of the project is to contribute to the fulfilment of the right to survival and development of the population affected by the new coronavirus, by ensuring access to basic water, sanitation, hygiene and health services. Several actions will be carried such as: granting the supply and distribution of vital supplies and equipment such as face masks or water containers, improve hygiene habits by educative actions in schools or protecting children against diseases such as pneumonia or malaria.
